Hajime Asaoka Project T Tourbillon Indepedent Japanese Watch
High-end, independent, and self-taught Japanese watchmaker Hajime Asaoka presents his second watch, the Project T Tourbillon - and it is beautiful. We introduced Hajime Asaoka back in 2011 when he released his first Tourbillon watch. The Hajime Asaoka Project T continues where he left off the with first tourbillon, further extending his cool and masculine art deco sense of style.Interestingly enough, the Hajime Asaoka Project T Tourbillon watch is a collaboration project between Hajime Asaoka and two other companies. Is this watch for charity, or with a sports team, or is there some o
Baselworld 2013: Tag Heuer, the Jack Heuer Special Editions
2013 is the 50th Anniversary of the Carrera watch, and while the other Carrera models are nice, nothing beats the stand out vintage vibe of the Jack Heuer Special Editions.?This pair of watches, celebrating famed Honorary Chairman of Tag Heuer, Jack Heuer, the Heuer Carrera Calibre 17 and the?TAG Heuer Carrera Calibre 1887 Chronograph - Jack Heuer Editions, are eye-catching?beauties?that certainly belong together as a study in how Tag Heuer as a brand has evolved through the years. While we have looked at the 2012 released?Heuer Carrera Calibre 17 before, it's nice to loo
Braun BN0106 Watch Review
I love checking out stuff like this. Neat quasi-futuristic watches with a serious German attitude and neo-Bauhaus feel. All from a brand that I know for making stuff like shaving razors. But yes, Braun also makes watches and clocks. This is one of their higher-end pieces and it is a digital watch done in collaboration with Pierre Nobs. He is the guy behind Ventura watches. If you look at digital Ventura timepieces, you'll most certainly see the connection. Braun actually can't seem to settle on one name for this watch. They list it as both the BN10 and BN0106 (with this specific model
Baume & Mercier Classima Executives Magnum XXL Watch
This was one of the best new Baume & Mercier at SIHH 2010, and that really isn't saying much. The brand's return to "heritage" (wow, isn't that starting to sound REALLY cliche these days) has a release of "classic" looking watches. A term that is starting to get on my nerves these days. Like the watch industry is so confused as to what happened in the last 10 years they are just trying to erase is and start from scratch. The Classima Executives Magnum XXL is actually two watches - see my images from the show. Nothing wrong wit them, but they don't really excite me as
Linde Werdelin DLC Hard Black II Limited Edition Watch
Linde Werdelin experimented with DLC coating on the first round of Hard Black watches and these were a great success, all selling out. They are back with the Linde Werdelin Hard Black II that brings an even hardier version of the popular DLC (diamond like carbon) coating that is now ever harder. Like the image below implies DLC coated watches are truly built like a truck. The coating is just that tough (also scratch resistant). The watch is based on the Linde Werdelin "The One" dial and uses the standard Linde Werdelin watch case that will accept the The Rock of The Reef Instruments fo
