Franck Muller Mystery Watch
Starting with a green spring, moving to the hot yellow colors of the summer, then on to reds of the fall, and finally to the cold blues of the winter. The stones flow on to the lugs, and baguette style stones of all different colors make up the hour markers and with trillion cut stones as the hour and minute hands. The rest of the watch is totally covered in diamonds. The "Mystery Double" (ahem, 'double mystery') part of the name comes from the two discs that moves the hour and minute indicator hands, rather than the watch having traditional hands.
JS Watch Frisland 1941 Aviator
Icelandic watchmaker JS Watch has just announced a beautiful new aviator called the Frisland 1941. Part of the Frisland collection, the 1941 is a classic looking Pilot watch with a little bit of JS Watch flair to it. The watch has a retro World War II look to it in honor of the Reykjavik airport that opened in 1941 during World War II. It was built by the British in Iceland and in 1946 was handed over to Iceland's sovereign government to run on their own. Apparently the area did serve as an airstrip before the formal airport was built, but that is enough history to justify the producti
Swatch Jeremy Scott Melted Minutes Wrist Watch & Hypnotic Heart Pocket Watch
Swatch's new resident weirdo designer Jeremy Scott follows up his first collection for the watch brand with another less than a year later. I first discussed the Jeremy Scott collection of watches for Swatch here - focusing on the Lighting Flash Watch that I thought was pretty cool. There are five new ones now, arguably more strange than the first collection. For me the weirdest piece is one done in a sort of naked color tone with a burnt/melted dial. Mr. Scott - wearing strange hair? as always- calls it the Melted Minutes watch. I envision it as art for art's sake and would see
Romain Jerome Titanic DNA Octopus Dive Watch
It really makes a lot of sense for there to be a real diver's watch in the Titanic DNA collection from Romain Jerome. I mean the whole idea of the collection is to commemorate something that is deep underwater. Well, the Titanic DNA diver is here with the RJ Octopus. The Octopus name is actually part of the "octo" theme which involves the number 8. There are special 8 sided screws in parts of the case, it is water resistant to 888 feet, and it will be part of a limited edition of 888 pieces in a few varieties. The Titanic DNA Octopus is a pretty neat watch. It builds on the Tita
Cacheux Elephant Automatic Watch
This is a watch that I really never thought was going to be made. It started out as a concept watch called the "Galibier" based upon a concept car from Bugatti with the same name. Fabien Cacheux designed it to have a perlage decorated "drum case," Bugatti logo, and an interesting strap system. Less than a year later, a more practical version of the piece is being made - but in very limited quantities and it will be called the "Cacheux Elephant Automatic."Although France based Cacheux tries to explain the "Elephant" name, I still don't quite get it. Something about being so gigantic an
