Hamilton Pan Europ Watch
In 2011 when the original [new] Hamilton Pan Europ watch was released, it was also the debut of the H-31 movement which was an exclusive for Hamilton by sister company ETA (both are under the Swatch Group umbrella). Based on a historic Hamilton watch design from 1971, the 2011 Pan Europ features a lovely blue dial and was limited to just 1,971 pieces.Aside from a cheap looking faux-alligator strap, the Pan Europ was a big sales success. Hamilton decided to release some new versions of the Pan Europ for 2012, and they even made our Baselworld 2012 top 10 watch list. Like many pieces, c
Arnold & Son Time Pyramid Watch
Arnold & Son's new Time Pyramid watch was debuted before Baselworld 2013 and I covered it here. Although I had seen images of the timepiece, it was on the short list of watches I was extremely eager to get my hands on at the Baselworld watch show. Inspired by the design of ornate clocks, the movement was a beautifully symmetrical mechanism with an open skeletonized design that emphasized aesthetic achievements as well as open views watch lovers and novices alike can enjoy with ease.Relatively thin, the wide case sits impressively flat on the dial. At 44.6mm wide, the Time Pyramid
Konstantin Chaykin Lunokhod New Moon Watch
As a follow-up model to their Lunokhod watch, Russian Konstantin Chaykin releases the very limited edition Lunokhod New Moon. I guess they call it that because it is their new moon phase watch. The original Lunokhod was a very interesting and inspired watch that I discussed hands on here. The original Lunokhod featured the same case design but was done in an old-style metal called wootz steel. The Lunokhod New Moon has been offered in 18k gold. I think it is yellow gold, and would the first yellow gold watch I have seen in a long time. It still has a sort of artisinal look to it, but t
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial Chronometer Watch Review
I recently learned an interesting fact regarding the history of the Omega Seamaster collection. The Seamaster and Seamaster Planet Oceans that we know today are hardy tool watches suitable for diving, James Bond, and overall feeling like high-function instruments that is made really well. You'd think these pieces started out as serious dive watches. That isn't the case actually. When the first Seamaster watches came out, Omega had other pieces in its collection that were more focused on sport. The Seamaster was meant to be a fashionable watch that one could wear up in the Hamptons whil
Tourneau Attempts To Explain High-End Watches To The 'Average Guy'
How is it that in today's day and age, watch advice falls into the "grooming" category is a mystery to me. Maybe you keep your watches in the bathroom, I don't know... Aside from this odd categorization, internet 'guy advice' video series Mansome spends some time at major watch retailer Tourneau to acquire some simple advice for your average man on buying a timepiece (tip # 1, watches aren't exactly like shaving razors).Mansome host Will Chase speaks with Michael Gordon at Tourneau, who you need to give credit to for trying to explain the complex topic of timepieces in just a few statements
