Should we call Corum the manufacture with five roofs?
Though the definition is often stretched and the term is bandied about tirelessly in marketing, we tend to think of a manufacture as a watch company that makes its watches under one roof. Should we call Corum the manufacture with five roofs? I, for one, prefer their own metaphor of the hand.
Porsche Design Group Ends Watch Production Relationship With Eterna
Interesting news today as Porsche Design and Eterna have announced that they have terminated their watch making relationship. For years Porsche Design (designed) watches were produced by the Swiss watch maker Eterna, located in Grenchen, Switzerland. As of March 10th, 2014, the two companies have announced the termination of their license agreement to develop, produce, and sell Porsche Design branded timepieces.Sadly, I did see this coming. Rodeo Drive Festival Of Watches In Beverly Hills October 10-13, 2013
October 10-13, 2013 is the inaugural "Festival of Watches" event in Beverly Hills, California. Los Angeles has sorely needed a decent watch event and this is a good start. The Rodeo Drive Chamber of Commerce in collaboration with a range of watch boutiques will have some special events, open store hours, and watches during the festival period. The real night to enjoy the event however is October 10th starting in the late afternoon from about 6-9pm.
