Chanel J12 Chromatic Watch Review
Chanel's J12 Chromatic on the wristI firmly believe that the world needs more elegant dive watches. Like this one, the latest model from Chanel's hugely successful ceramic line. Previously photographed here, today we have a full review from a month on the wrist with the reference H2979 Chanel J12 Chromatic. Available in 33mm quartz, and 38 and 41mm automatic, the J12 Chromatic uses the famous Chanel ceramic expertise to create a watch with the look and feel of metal.Fellow writer James Stacey and I differ with Ariel in our preferred size of watch. In Ariel's hands-on, his take was "I
MB&F HM5 Watch Review
Before he presented the HM5 watch to me for the first time earlier this year, MB&F's Max Busser first showed me two vintage watches from the 1970s. One was an Amida and the other was a Girard-Perregaux. Each was called a driver's watch, and was designed to display the time from the side. Book Review: Masters Of Contemporary Watch Making
I don't read a lot of books on watches. There sure are enough of them out there. Large, pretty coffee table books designed to be skimmed through while sitting in a large easy chair listening listening to background jazz and perhaps enjoying a scotch. These luxo-tomes are meant for high-end collectors, and priced as such. That doesn't mean they are well written. Most of them list facts, but the best of them are actually worth a read. This is one of them. It also helps that it looks nice and have gorgeously printed images. Images that put even the best computer images to shame. I kid you
Montblanc TimeWriter 1 Metamorphosis Watch Transforms
There was a lot of excitement at Montblanc in Geneva for this watch. They only had one of them?at SIHH and it was in a case. Still a prototype but I got to check it out a bit. In a nutshell, you press down on a lever on the left side of the case and the watch dial magically transforms into something else. Not only does the look change, but more importantly the functions do as well. One face shows the time (regulator style with?retrograde minutes) and the date, while the second style is a chronograph. In the included video you can wait through most of it or skip ahead near the end when
