Why Aren't Watch Companies Suing Each Other For Copyright Infringement All Day Long? - Ask Watch Experts Questions About Watches
James M. from Halifax, Nova Soctia, Canada asks: How litigious are watch companies? I am thinking of the Invicta that looks like a Submariner or the Swiss Legend that looks like an Audemars Piguet, and so on and so forth. Does Rolex or Audemars Piguet just consider them "homages" and leave them alone? Do they think these companies cross the line and sue? Is there a system companies like Invicta use so they don't get sued such as just changing a look slightly? Can the sue?I ask these questions because I see so many established companies borrowing designs but I never hear of them being sued.
Citizen Satellite Eco-Drive Watch: Gets Time From Space
Atomic clock radio signal syncing watches are so last year. Citizen just decimated the coolness factor of those watches with the Satellite Eco-Drive watch. This timepiece isn't just a concept, but will actually be produced as a limited edition later this year - and may have its tech show up in later watches. Not sure when it was, but at some point Louis Vuitton just went nuts with the "monogram" showing up on everything from change purses and shoes, to probably shower caps. Burberry is on their way there, but with plaid - so much plaid. But as far as hideous plaid goes, at least the Burberry stuff looks good. I'd settle for a nice Burberry overcoat with all the plaid on t
Nivrel Deep Ocean GMT Watch Winner Follow-Up
Thanks to Mark S. from Cleveland, Ohio for a follow-up wrist shot and some thoughts on the Nivrel Deep Ocean GMT watch he won back in August here on . Here are some words from him on the German timepiece:"Firstly, I'd like to thank Nivrel for allowing me the opportunity to win the new "Deep Ocean GMT diver." I'd just like to point out some of the features that set this watch apart and easily made it one of my favorites. Starting from the inside, I'm very happy that the watch is powered by the reliable Swiss ETA 2836-2 movement with GMT hand complication. When I first re
