Why Are Watch Hands Usually Set To About 10:10? - Ask Watch Experts Questions About Watches
Harold F. from Mobile, Alabama, USA asks: Why are display watches in advertisements and in stores usually set to about 10:10?This is a good question and we’ve been amused at the various answers we’ve seen offered over the years. There is a very simple explanation for this. When the hands on an analog watch are set to about 10:10 they offer a balanced, symmetrical look to the dial that helps a watch look its best. Display watches and images in advertisements are interested in making products appear as attractive as possible. Many years ago, watch companies realized that th
Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean GMT Watch Review
Omega Seamaster and Seamaster Planet Ocean watches get a fair amount of attention at aBlogtoWatch for good reason, and today we are going to look at the Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Co-Axial GMT in detail. So why all the love? First of all, we are serious dive watch guys even though not all of us actually dive. Tutima Glashutte Homage Minute Repeater Watch
The big news is that Tutima just opened up their own movement manufacture they call the Glashutte Factory. To celebrate this they have released the first factory watch. It is the Tutima Glashutte Homage that is not only their first in-house movement, but also a minute repeater. Glashutte Original and A. Lange & Sohne are also located in Glashutte Germany, and should have minute repeaters of their o
Marcello C. Nettuno Bi-Color Chronograph Watch
You don't see combinations like this very often. Here, German Marcello C. has fitted their Nettuno Chronograph watch with a PVD black bezel and PVD black pushers and crown, against a stainless steel case. I think it is a very attractive combo. The look results in sort of a two-tone look that is quite popular these days. It makes the watch very noticeable as well - being more "striking" than models without the color combo. This is the first ever use of PVD in the Nettuno watch collection that I am aware of as well. You will notice of course that there are "mirror" image watches here. As
Customized Vacheron Constantin Quai de l'Ile Collection Makes Me Sigh With Despair At The Sheer Pointlessness Of Message Behind This Watch
Do you recall thinking how dumb it was to combine a toaster oven and a radio? Perhaps it could have some conceivable space saving use; but really, What is the point? To prove it can be done? If you haven't heard of concept, it stems from the idea of unnecessary convergence products. You see combinations of products like this all the time, and sometimes they make more sense than others. Other times however, the whole idea is so repugnant both visually and in execution, that it just makes you upset. Not upset at the idea itself, that is all fun and games, but combining X and Y would be cool! Ra
