Porsche Design's signature industrial minimalist design aesthetic
And now with the Porsche Design's signature industrial minimalist design aesthetic, it has been showed to the world. This Porsche Design diving watch is capable of handling dives up to 1000 meters. The fact that no diver would go diving to that level is a different matter here, as achieving this feat itself is a big deal. Even the looks are to die for as the watch flaunts a silver-colored stainless steel container with an anthracite-grey titanium structure for achieving striking contrast.
Arnold & Son DSTB Watch
Arnold & Son produces a wide range of watches that vary in their level of romanticism, complication, and technical attributes. From their highly technical?UTTE?tourbillon, to the very romantic Time Pyramid, or even the complicated and impressive CTB Chronograph, Arnold & Son has an undeniable ability to turn heads with beautiful and detailed designs that instill a distinctively artistic feel to their watch making. This year at Baselworld Arnold & Son had quite a few pieces to show, including the new Arnold & Son DSTB. Like many of the watches in their Instrument collect
ArtyA Son Of Sound: The High-End Guitar Watch
In the last year Swiss art watch brand ArtyA has transformed itself from extremely avant garde "creative" watches to something like this guitar head-shaped Son of Sound collection. The brand was once about just creating totally one-of-a-kind watches that combined the work of an artist and watch maker. The "piece unique" moniker was more a result of that production style versus an effort. For example if you take a steel case and "deface" it (as founder Yvan Arpa liked to say) with electricity and machines by hand, no two cases are going to look alike (i.e. "piece unique"). Thematically,
Tag Heuer Link Watch Collection For 2011
Among Tag Heuer's mainstay watch collections is the Link. I believe it was originally introduced in the late 1980s, and has been a major part of the brand's image since then. The Link's DNA has always been linked to its bracelet - offering a special look that many have tried to replicate (but not very well). For 2011 Tag Heuer updates and refines the entire link watch collection. I sat down with Tag Heuer's CEO Mr. Babin to talk all about it.I previously wrote about a Link watch here when doing a review a few years ago. Owning a previous Link model helped me to see the differences tha
The American Tourbillon: RGM Pennsylvania Calibre MM 2
OK, so before you begin reading this I need you to start the above video of a choir rendition of "America the Beautiful." The video has some cheesy imagery of course, but interestingly sums up my swelling patriotic pride in America's first made (and designed) tourbillon movement. It is no surprise that this comes straight from Pennsylvania at RGM. The brand recently announced America's first made and designed watch movement (in a long time), and now its very first tourbillon. Hailing from Lancaster county, it is funny how this innovation in the American watch industry stems from a pla
