Parmigiani has already gained a strong foothold in the world of horology
The two-year old watch company Parmigiani has already gained a strong foothold in the world of horology. Encouraged by car racing, it has surprised the demanding audience by its extraordinary watches: chronographs, regulators and tourbillions.Created in cooperation with the designer Eric Giroud, the brand's new brainchild, named Predator, has also inherited many features from racing automobiles: the brake discs and the pedals, the five-layer dial featuring a honeycomb base, as well as the bridges shaped as a push rod (the bridges are used to connect the chronograph counters to the dial).
Six Watches I Want Them To Make Again

Credit: WatchUSeek member slin-nycIf there has been one major theme to recognize over the last five or so years in the watch industry it is the rise of the retro-revival watch. What does that mean? It means that a love of "vintage" and celebrating tradition has swept over the entire industry. It means that to a large degree the watch design of today is influenced by the watch design of yesterday, and it also means that popular brands are releasing modern versions (exact or updates) of classic models. JS Watch Islandus 44MM Review
Growing up, I knew Iceland as the place whose name seemed to be juxtaposed with Greenland (as it was the warmer of the two) and the home of Bjork (whose music videos I did not then or now understand). I later learned that they also have attractive women, a rather dark history with Europe's financial crisis, and at least one really top notch video game maker. They also make watches. Iceland has one true watch maker and it is JS Watch Co based out of none other than the capital city of Reykjavik. So here is a review of their Islandus 44mm watch, which according to the brand is a timepiec
Jorg Gray JR9400-21 Watch Review
I have got to hand it to Jorg Gray for keeping up momentum and trying new things. The previous generation of Jorg Gray timepieces were designed to offer more reasonably priced alternatives to popular designs from expensive high-end watch brands. I anticipated that the brand would take a few years before developing their own "character," but it took a lot less than that. Now, less than two years after I made that initial prediction, Jorg Gray is releasing totally unique timepieces with an incredible richness of character.I like to think of Jorg Gray's experimentation on par with Invic
Glycine Incursore II & III Watches
The popular Incursore collection from Glycine returns with a model II and model III. Relatively inexpensive, these watches comes with a few dial styles and with automatic or manually wound movements. Actually, the price of the pieces with a manually wound Unitas 6498 movement is the same as the watch with an automatic ETA 2824. So why would someone opt for a manually wound movement. Well, I guess some people prefer it... but really the only difference is a central seconds hand (in the automatic) versus a subsidiary seconds dial in the manually wound version. Oh, and the view through th
