Louis Cartier followed his success with the Santos
Louis Cartier followed his success with the Santos when he designed and released the Tank in 1917, inspired, appropriately, by the design of the Renault tanks used in the First World War. Cartier presented the prototype to General John Pershing of the American Expeditionary Force. Cartier expanded on the simple square of the Santos; the Tank features a square watch in a rectangular case with its straps hidden under vertical sidepieces. The watch features blued, sword shaped hands with a winding crown that is topped with a sapphire.
What Is The Right Size Watch For My Wrist? - Ask Watch Experts Questions About Watches
Peter T. from Atlanta, Georgia, USA asks: I am a man with rather large, well, hands. I find it difficult to purchase many watches I would love to add to my collection because my hands seem to dwarf a timepiece with a face smaller than 42-44mm. Is there a proper ratio of face size to hand size, or can the petite face co-exist with the full-handed man. This really goes into the larger question of “what is the proper size watch for my wrist?” The simple answer is that while there is new perfect size for everyone, especially as taste is subjective, there are certain rules wort
Reflex LED Watch Review
The Reflex watch combines snap bracelets from a few decades ago with LED watches from even more decades ago. All in a colorful and inspired package that is meant to appeal to people today. I first saw these watches about a year or so ago and they instantly caught my eye. Something about a mix of novelty and illegibility. Brands like Tokyo Flash (for example) became really popular for releasing an onslaught of never-before-seen light-up dials on too-hard-to-read watches. While the Reflex watch needs light math to read (you know, "counting"), it is fun to use and those who like the look
Patek Philippe Geneva Boutique Rue de Rhone Classic Calatrava Ref. 5565 Limited Edition Mens Watch Available
In virtually all the watch auctions I see, Patek Philippe watches are of the most common "high yield" lots. It amazes me that even Patek Philippe watches that are just a few years old auction for more than the retail price. This is certainly not the case with most watches, but it can safely be said that Patek Philippe watches are 'investment grade.' To a degree it is difficult to determine which watches will be worth the most. This depends on many factors, but the good news is that virtually all limited edition Patek Philippe watches DO retain value very well. Here is a very nice class
Richemont's Ralph Lauren Watch Line + Video
I discussed the three initial Ralph Lauren Watches here on Luxist, so please have a look at my pre-release thoughts written just before SIHH with more details on each model:Ralph Lauren Stirrup Collection WatchesRalph Lauren Sporting Collection WatchesRalph Lauren Classic Slim Collection WatchesI said it pretty well in those articles, but I'll affirm a few things now that the watches have been released. The watches are really nice. Maybe too nice for what the market will bear right now. The Richemont DNA in the watch line expresses it self profoundly in the diversity of the look
