Replica Ulysse Nardin Moonstruck is focused on the system of the Sun
The watch is focused on the system of the Sun, the Earth and the Moon, focusing on scientifically accurate representation of the phase of the Moon and the global influence of Lunar and solar gravitation, which resulted in the ebb and flow of tides, all the concepts of Dr. Ludwig Oechslin.
Roger Dubuis Pulsion Watches
"Where am I?" I wondered as I checked out Roger Dubuis' SIHH 2012 booth. It feels like I am looking at a scene from the Borg mothership. Over the last few years the Swiss brand has changed its identity a few times, reinvented its watches, distanced itself from the man Roger Dubuis, re-hired the man Roger Dubuis, and overall had one of the most interesting and tumultuous modern histories of most any high-end watch brand out there. For 2012, the new push is on "Roger Dubuis Worlds." Each distinct collection gets its own universe to live in. There is the casino world of the Monegasque, th
de GRISOGONO Power Breaker Chronograph N08 Watch Available On James List
In my opinion de GRISOGONO is a pretty interesting and yet under represented brand (at least in the US). I am not familiar with their entire collection, but some of the stuff is interesting. A watch that epitomizes their sport piece collection is the oddly named "Power Breaker." In gold, it has a name that sounds like a piece of construction equipment. That or a WWE wrestler.A lot of this stuff just slips through the cracks. This "N08" Power Breaker Chronograph watch actually came out last year. In 18k rose gold, the case is... squarish and so GRISOGONO. What does de GRISOGONO even me
Andre Checa Designs Most Hideous Watch Case This Year
This is the ugliest watch case I think I have personally ever seen. What is so ironic is that the watch movement and dial itself are just fine, and totally mismatched with the watch case. This timepiece gets a "Fraggle Rock's Finest Award" for most cartoon rock formation style watch ever. What was Andre Checa thinking when he designed this watch? He was likely watching episodes of old Jim Henson Muppet television shows or movies. I get the watch, I just don't like it. This is another "home run" design from the radical French artist. You might remember the first quizzical creation of his
Rebellion T-1000 Watch
Rebellion ups the power reserve ante with REB T-1000 manually wound mechanical movement in the watch with the same name (minus "REB"). Through six barrels the movement stores 1000 hours of power reserve. What I want to know is how long do you need to wind the watch, for it to go from totally unwound to fully wound? Mechanically, the movement isn't super complex. It has been specially designed to be symmetrical, which is interesting. All the "guts" are squeezed in the middle, and the balance wheel has been exposed in a unique way. It reminds me of a flattened Corum Golden Bridge
