L. Leroy Osmior Tourbillon Regulateur Automatique Watches
One of the latest old names in watch making to be brought back is L. Leroy, this time under the Festina Group that also owns Perrelet as well as watch movement maker Soprod. L. Leroy was a well-regarded watchmaker from the 18th century but the name was used in pocket watches and wristwatches into the 20th century. A few years ago (I believe) it was brought back as a high-end luxury brand with some interesting models. This is their tourbillon, and it has a lot going for it. Let's check out in more detail the L. Leroy Osmior Tourbillon Regulateur Automatique collection of watches.I was
Zenith El Primero Lightweight Limited Edition Skeletonized Watch
Zenith really seems to have mastered the ability to surprise with their new models while still respecting their proven formula for distinctive and lust-worthy sport chronographs. While it is a bit of a stretch to call any El Primero "garden variety", the new Zenith El Primero Lightweight LE is certainly not your Dad's El Primero (better?). This new high-tech model offers a number of cutting edge enhancements all made in the name of saving weight. With a movement crafted from silicon and titanium and a case in carbon and aluminum, this is essentially the El Primero Superleggera.
GIVEAWAY: Delma Santiago Blue Shark
Swiss Delma watches aren't known too well outside of Europe. They produce attractive, mid-range mechanical and quartz watches that include fun mechanical dive watches like the Santiago Blue Shark. A predominance of orange (versus blue) on the dial might have you take issue with the name, but it is nevertheless a diver to be reckoned with. At 47mm wide, the Santiago Blue Shark isn't a watch for lightweights. The all-steel case is water resistant to a depth of 3,000 meters.? The steel bezel comes in brushed steel or PVD black, and the crystal is sapphire. This deep diver contains a Swiss
Seiko Solar Watches
See in the image here in their most basic form, watches with Seiko Solar movements have been around since 1977. But now I think Seiko will start focusing on having Seiko Solar watches enter more of the world market (especially in higher-end forms). For most of the world, the predominant light-powered watch is the Citizen Eco-Drive. Citizen was clever about pushing their light powered watches as being more user-friendly than basic quartz watches. One of the main drawbacks of quartz watches is the need to change the batteries from time to time. Movements such as the Seiko Solar and Citiz
Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair 2012: We'll Be There
One of the most interesting watch fairs in the world is the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair?(put on by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council). Celebrating its 31st year, the 2012 fair will run from September 5 - 9 at the Hong Kong Convention Centre. This year will be there, checking out the "world's biggest timepiece event." Is it bigger than BaselWorld? I will let you know. BaselWorld is rather massive and I've never actually been able to see it all. I am calling for recruits to help me divvy up next year's event. Serious horological explorers can contact me.Hong K
