Audemars Piguet Royal Oak 41mm Selfwinding & Chronograph Watches
I have discussed how 2012 is the 40th anniversary of the Audemars Piguet Royal Oak watch. It was easy to anticipate that the brand from Le Brassus would focus on the Royal Oak and release a bevy of pieces both looking forward and to the collection's past. They certainly did. There is nothing extremely novel, and I believe that for as long as we can imagine, Audemars Piguet will honor the core look of the Gerald Genta designed classic. One of the most important pieces for the 40th anniversary celebration is the Royal Oak in a newer, larger 41mm wide case. The previous "Jumbo" model was
Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve 2010 Watch Award Winners
Last night was the watch industry's annual big award show gala event - the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Geneve (GPHG). These are our Oscars, and the 2010 winners are interesting. A few surprises, and a lot of watches that just keep winning. I was invited to the ceremony, but was unfortunately unable to stick around in Europe long enough after my last trip to go this year. Next year I will go, and might just sport a Timex!Surprises that I am happy to see? Seiko won the prize for the best Sports Watch with the Spring Drive Spacewalk Commemorative Edition watch. MB&F won for best Desig
Giveaway: Marvin M107 or M103 Automatic Chronograph Watch
I am very excited to bring you a special watch giveaway here at . This month you can enter to win your choice of either of the above two mechanical chronograph watches from Swiss Marvin watches. These are the Marvin M107 (in the rectangular case), and the M103 (in the round case). I actually reviewed the M103 here - and it is really a great watch. I wanted to offer either of them because they have same Swiss Valjoux 7750 automatic movement inside, and are very close in price. It is up to the winner watch model he/she prefers. What more can I say? These are two excellent
Romain Jerome Titanic DNA Ch¡§|ca Is Melty Face Watch
I do applaud Romain Jerome for being so ballsy and avant garde. They have made some nice one-off or limited edition pieces that spit in the face of fellow Swiss who are highly conservative most of the time - especially in terms of watch design. Actually, even Romain Jerome's non limited edition watches are "special." Love them or hate them you have to appreciate their niche and determination to be different.? However, that doesn't mean I have to love everything they make. This new special "art" watch by French artist Andr¡§| Ch¡§|ca is a bit much for me. It is one of those things that I fr
