Girard-Perregaux Constant Escapement Watch
"Constant Escapement" sounds like the marketing slogan for an all-inclusive vacation resort somewhere. "What you truly seek is constant escapement..." It is true, like other hobbies in life, high-end watches are a constant distraction, and offer some nice escape when wound properly. What?Girard-Perregaux?actually means is "constant force escapement" - which is really what this new high-end technically-astute timepiece is all about. In this watch are clues to the future of the brand as well as insight as to what Switzerland's top watch makers are currently working on. The Constant Escap
Frederic Jouvenot Helios Watch
One of the best mechanical watches for 2011 shown at the GTE (Geneva Time Exhibition) was clearly Frederic Jouvenot's masterfully creative and well-executed Helios watch. The talented Mr. Jouvenot - a young and ambitious watch maker - was nice enough to show off the watch to me himself. I was dazzled by just how different, yet easy to read it was - and for about 50,000 Swiss Francs you too can have one.An element of the watch that isn't totally new is the case. Frederic Jouvenot (FJ) debuted this case on his previous watch, the Frederic Jouvenot Automatic Chronograph Evoluti
Corum Admiral's Cup Deep Hull 48 Limited Edition Watch
It is big and it goes down pretty deep. It is also the first real diver's watch from Corum that I can think of (aside from a few dive style Corum Bubble watches). This is the new for 2010 Admiral's Cup Deep Hull 48 watch from Corum, and it is rather interesting, though I have some thoughts on it overall. The Admiral's Cup line has been very good to the brand, and over the last few years Corum has been refining it a lot. More models, lots of variety, and a furtherance of making them look more manly as opposed to colorful (which was the classic look with all the colored flags). Today's A
Omega Seamaster Bullhead Chronograph Watch
It feels like quite a long time since we first saw the Omega?Seamaster Bullhead at BaselWorld this past spring. Now officially announced, this quirky new chronograph was inspired by the 1969 Seamaster Driver (aka the Bullhead) and sports only a few changes when compared to that original, and very rare, Omega chronograph. The Omega Seamaster Bullhead boasts an asymmetrical case that is somewhat wedge-shaped in profile. With the case measuring 43mm across, the chronograph controls are mounted at the top of the case (hence "bullhead") on either side of the main time-setting crown.
Sinn 756 UTC Diapal Lubricant Free Watch Available
Really quick. Here is one of the coolest Sinn watches out there, and really rare at that. This is the 756 UTC Dialpal, which is the 757 UTCmodel without the rotating bezel. The Diapal name refers to a diamond palette system used instead of jewels between the gears. The system is so "slippery" that the movement needs no oil to lubricate these areas. The whole idea beyond just looking cool is to allow the watch to go much longer between servicing. This watch retails for over $3,000 and is basically impossible to get in a lot of situations. The one pictured is available on eBay rig
