the Alain Silberstein Company came out with the first calculator to use solenoids
Since it is obvious that Mr. Kashio was an inventive sort of man, it only took a little while for him to decide to explore different products. At the business show in Ginza, Japan in 1949, he discovered electronic calculators. With the proceeds from the sale of the yubiwa pipes, Mr. Kashio and his brothers began to experiment with making their own calculators. At the time, most calculators were run by the use of gears. With diligence and hard work, the Alain Silberstein Company came out with the first calculator to use solenoids. The new type of calculator went on sale in 1954. This calculator also was the first to have the 10 digit keypad and had only one display window as opposed to the competitors' that had three.
Hands-On With Kobe Bryant's New Hublot Watch
When I checked a few days ago I learned that Kobe Bryant has over 15 million fans on his Facebook page. That is a ton of people that?Hublot just earned access to in their recent acquisition of Mr. Bryant as their newest mega-popular athlete brand ambassador. I covered that story more here on Forbes. Here on aBlogtoWatch I'd like to cover the limited edition watch (at least the first one) Hublot has produced for Kobe, unsurprisingly named the "King Power Black Mamba." I should remind you that as of 2013, Hublot is also the official timekeeper of the LA Lakers. Here in Los Angeles I was
Tag Heuer Aquaracer Caliber 5 500m Watches Revisited
Ever since the new Calibre 5 movement based Tag Heuer Aquaracer watches came out I knew that they were going to be a big hit. Now, after Tag Heuer has penetrated the market with loads of marketing many of us many not yet have seen any of the actual pieces. The new Aquaracer watches look nothing like the previous line, which is a good or bad thing depending on how you see it. Well, there are SOME similarities. In fact, Tag Heuer still makes both lines, calling the new one the Aquaracer 500m. I think it is interesting when a company replaces an old model with something else, but still ma
The Nivrel Wild Sea Chronograph Watch Cuts Through Time
The Nivrel "Sea" watches have always impressed me. They are basic diver watches, with a colorful twist. The chronograph version is the Wild Sea. It comes in standard steel, and PVD steel. This watch is perfect for when you want a classic look, with a bit of an edge. The Wild Sea goes with the red color trim approach. The hands looks like daggers tipped in blood. At least in my morbid sense of observation. For this reason I state that the watch "cuts through time," with hands like knives... The larger chronograph dials are effective, and I like how the standard seconds dial
Perrelet Turbine XL America Limited Edition Watch
Apparently the 4th of July comes a bit late this year as Perrelet has just released a very American watch that celebrates our stars and stripes. See, if the Swiss can love America I am sure there is hope for our economy. Just send some of those excess Francs you guys keep whining about."Boohoo! Our money is sooo valuable!" They truly are an oppressed people. This cool new watch makes me happy to look at and is a special rendition of the newer Turbine XL watch. Perrelet also released two special edition (also limited) Turbine (non XL) watches that I will discuss in another post.
