Bausele Australian Surf Watch
Bausele's brand slogan is "Australian Soul - Swiss Made." It should probably be changed to "Australian Soil - Swiss Made." Why? See that rather obviously too-large crown? Well, it is filled with one of three choices of dirt! Not just any dirt, Australian dirt, mate. The crown is like a little canister with a see-through window at its end. You can order your Bausele watch with a crown filled with Australian red sand, surf sand, or coal. Coal? Why coal? Doesn't the old Christmas myth about gifts with coal in them mean that person getting them has been bad? And not bad in an impressive wa
Oris Artix Complication Watch
Oris continues their classy "Complication" watch collection with the Artix. Easy on the eyes, and available with a six-link steel metal bracelet or leather strap. It is a graceful creation, and offers a decent mechanical annual calendar watch (with a symmetrical dial layout) at a reasonable price. This seems to be the MO behind TX watches, that they emphasize the strengths of quartz watches as opposed to creating watches that you wish had an automatic movement. Plus, they like to indicate that the movements are German designed? - a little f
A. Lange & Sohne Saxonia Dual Time Watch
To be honest when I first checked out this Saxonia Dual Time watch I didn't give it much attention. It was nice, but didn't really look like the A. Lange & Sohne watches I was used to. I was frankly more interested in the Richard Lange Tourbillon Pour le Merite as well as the Zeitwerk Striking. It was only after returning to the watch later on did I realize that it was a really nicely done dual time watch. The movement is all Lange, but the dial feels a bit like something else. It is quite minimalist for the brand, and the dual time function is easy to adjust. All that Lange engine
