bold limited-edition timepiece represents the third series in Concord¡¯s exploration
This bold limited-edition timepiece represents the third series in Concord's exploration of the tourbillon. Three tourbillons are in action here, each rotating at different speeds to perform distinct gravity-defying functions. Two of them are nested one inside the other while the third tourbillon carriage rotates a separate balance on a single axis in the conventional way, but at the relatively high speed of one revolution every 36 seconds. The hours and minutes are shown on discs rotating against their respective markers, and the seconds appear on a scale around the bi-axial tourbillon. Sapphire and citrine gemstones are used to indicate the power reserve. Eleven color-graded blue sapphires from dark to pale show the power left in the mainspring. When the six yellow citrines appear against the marker, the wearer knows it's time to wind up the watch.
Christophe Claret Poker Watch For Luxury Wrist Gaming
Less than two weeks ago aBlogtoWatch previewed the newest mechanical gaming watch by Swiss Christophe Claret. Able to play a full game of Texas Hold 'em, the Christophe Claret Poker is the most complicated mechanical gaming watch this or any other watch manufacture has ever produced. As we previously mentioned, this is the third and perhaps final in a collection of limited edition ultra-luxury "toy" timepieces meant for whimsy and fun, and the exploration of all that can be done in a time wrist-worn mechanism. It all started with the Christophe Claret Blackjack 21, but did you know tha
Editors' Holiday Watch Wish List Buying Guide For 2013
For 2013, the aBlogtoWatch watch gift guide will take the form of an editor's and contributor's wish list. Some of the editorial team has gone ahead and chosen a few of the timepieces from last year that are really high on their list. These are mostly newer watches, but ones that should be available for purchase now. So for this holiday season you'll get a good idea of what we've personally wanted, and we didn't include crazy stuff that no one can get, even if they could afford it.What you may find interesting is how often watches get put on the same list. We've made it possible for t
MB&F Legacy Machine No. 1 Watch
Welcome to a new side of MB&F. This new watch is not a new Horological Machine. It does not exist as part of any current collection from the forward thinking brand. Rather, this is the first watch in MB&F's new product family - this is the Legacy Machine 1 (LM1). The Legacy Machine watches will exist as the other side of MB&F. Their products from now on will either fall into the Horological Machine range or the Legacy Machine range. Retaining the MB&F DNAall around, these watch collections will be like family members separated by 100 years of history. For Max Busser
Bernhardt Globemaster GMT Watch Review By Reader
One of your fellow readers recently purchased a watch that he was so passionate about, he spontaneously wrote a short review of it and I thought it was worth sharing with you. This is especially due to the good value of the watch, and that it is a relatively unknown US based watch company. The brand is Bernhardt watches that is based out of North Carolina. They have an impressive line of watches that use everything from quartz to mechanical movements of Swiss or Japanese origin. This specific model is near the top of their line. While it does have a conservative good look to it, it is
