Baume & Mercier Capeland Watches For 2012
The newer Baume & Mercier Capeland watch is not new for 2012 as it originally came out a year or two ago. I covered some of the 2011 Capeland models here. For 2012, Baume & Mercier extended the collection with new colors, and I got a nice hands-on look at the collection. It goes without saying if you have seen both of these articles that the Capeland is a rather photogenic timepiece.Perusing Baume & Mercier's website you'll find at least 15 versions of the new Capeland available. Bulgari Magsonic Grande Sonnerie Tourbillon Watch
This piece of rare game goes for an awful lot of coin. It has an interesting history, as well, starting out as the Gerald Genta Arena Metasonic Sonnerie watch. When Bulgari engulfed the Gerald Genta brand (head nod to Genta who just passed away), they kept this piece and made a few style changes to the dial and case (very minor), the movement remained the same with the price still hovering around $1,000,000. Bulgari also changed the name of the watch from Metasonic to Magsonic and dropped the Arena part of the name.Does Magsonic mean anything more than Metasonic? Magsonic is a new all

There are many out there, but for this post I'd like to collect my current favorites, representing a range of styles and prices, and in no particular order.Ocean7 LM-1 PVD with PVD sapphire bezelWhy I like itThis one is kind of like buying a car - tons of options, both pre and post sale.Sapphire bezel. Book Review: Masters Of Contemporary Watch Making
I don't read a lot of books on watches. There sure are enough of them out there. Large, pretty coffee table books designed to be skimmed through while sitting in a large easy chair listening listening to background jazz and perhaps enjoying a scotch. These luxo-tomes are meant for high-end collectors, and priced as such. That doesn't mean they are well written. Most of them list facts, but the best of them are actually worth a read. This is one of them. It also helps that it looks nice and have gorgeously printed images. Images that put even the best computer images to shame. I kid you
