Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter Watch Flying Debut
For 2014, Oris has released a new timepiece which is the world's first automatic mechanical watch with an altimeter. Called the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Alitmeter, the piece continues the brand's notion of attempting to include useful complications in its watches for racing, diving, and of course aviation. In a sense, the Oris Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter watch is a follow-up model to the 2013 Oris Aquis Depth Gauge watch with a simple yet highly effective depth gauge used for diving.Oris did not announce the Big Crown ProPilot Altimeter watch at Baselworld 2014, but rather waited a fe
Tag Heuer Carrera Ring-Master Limited Edition Watches
Japan is one of the best places to buy a Tag Heuer timepiece. Not only do Japanese people think Tag Heuer watches kick-ass, but Tag Heuer is constantly releasing special limited edition watches exclusively for the Japanese market. The weird part is that many of them would do totally well outside of the Japanese market. RGM Pennsylvania Tourbillon MM 2 Watch
I wasn't sure what to expect when I first laid eyes on the movement for this RGM Pennsylvania Tourbillon watch (which I discussed here). Sure the final version isn't much different than the preview I saw a while ago, but seeing it all put together with case, text, hands, and finishing is really satisfying. I feel a nice level of price seeing this timepiece, knowing it is all American. It really doesn't have too much to do with the fact that "we can do it." If Americans needed to build a tourbillon watch a while ago, we would have. This isn't an achievement in technology or engineering.
HYT H2 Watch Teaser (Part 1)
No doubt there will be a part 2 and maybe 3 of the teasers that will lead up to the HYT release of their second watch, the H2. Last year, the "Hydromechanical Horologists" led up to the eventual release of the H1 timepiece by teasing us with bits and pieces. So here is the HYT Caliber 201 manually wound movement that will once again use liquid indicators to help show the time - and other complications. The HYT H1 was one of the most impressive watches of 2012, with its unique design, innovative liquid and bellows system, and relatively competitive price of around $45,000. The H2 will b
