Longio Tourbillon Watches For 2010
To my knowledge, Longio is one of the only Chinese watch brands trying to push and market their tourbillon watches aggressively. I reviewed one of their Telamon 1000m Tourbillon Dive watches here, and originally discussed Longio Chinese tourbillon watches here. You can find more information about the brand in those articles. Here I would like to share with you a few of their new, or other pieces. I visited them at Baselworld and snapped some shots - though the above images of the green numeraled Asamara Tourbillon were sent to me from Longio themselves.
Van Cleef & Arpels Pont des Amoureux Watch
This is a very interesting and nice to look at women's watch from Van Cleef & Arpels. If I was a woman, then I would likely start saving up for one. Pennies, nickles, and dimes until I reached $116,000. The watch is the Pont des Amoureux, which means lover's bridge. The complication makes it such that the two figurines? connect at midnight for a "kiss." This was no easy task actually. Check out this image of the watch internals. Just a small part of this area is dedicated to the manually wound mechanical movement. The rest is for the complex retrograde minute and hour hands.
Perrelet Double Rotor Turbine Watch Video
The recently announced Perrelet Turbine watch (that I discussed here) has proved extremely popular, which is a good thing because this new video sheds more light upon this impressive timepiece. You get not only a great view of the watch in action, but a good understanding of how the double rotor system is engineered. Seeing the watch in the video in operation allows me to appreciate this desirable timepiece all the more.In particular I like how the crown is not actually pulled out much, but has a fold-out flap that allows for adjustment and manual winding (if necessary).
