IWC Ingenieur Double Chronograph Titanium Watch
An easy watch for IWC lovers to enjoy is this new model in the Ingenieur collection that incorporates a lot of what we enjoy about the brand. This may be the first time, or among the few times that IWC has used its rattrapante movement in an Ingenieur piece. Rattrapante is a fancy name for a split second chronograph, or as IWC refers to it in this watch, a "Double Chronograph."Double chronographs are an interesting complication that are mechanically very cool, but probably not something most people are going to use very often. They offer a second chronograph that measures up to 60 sec
Roger Dubuis Excalibur Quatuor Watch
"Quatuor" is a name I can hardly pronounce but represents a piece of fun from Roger Dubuis that is wonderfully and most exquisitely deranged. Day one at SIHH 2013 is over and I am trying to wrap my mind around all the people I saw and faces I inadvertently forgot. Inside Dubois-Depraz - Empire Of The Watch Movement Module
Fresh movements come in these plastic containersOn an uncommonly warm day in early October I visited a place few watch writers go - the manufacture (well one of them) of Dubois-Depraz. High-up in the mountainous region of Switzerland's famous Vallee de Joux the factory sits among many famous watch brands. Dubois-Depraz is a key cog in the watch industry you know and love, but they don't make watches.Individual gears are meticulously tested for precision and utilityUnlike the many curated tours of watch factories I am subject to, my guide at Dubois-Depraz wasn't a PR guide.
