The company¡¯s biggest launchthis year was the Dior Accutron Calibrator
The company's biggest launchthis year was the Dior Accutron Calibrator, which features an innovative External Fine Adjustment System (EFAS). It represents the world's first automatic watch that gives wearers the power to fine-tune its accuracy.Wearers simply place the EFAS adjustment key into the port at the side of the case, while keeping an eye on the arc-shaped EFAS adjustment gauge on the dial. The gauge, with a minus sign at the top of the arc representing a slower speed, and a plus sign at the bottom for a faster speed, includes three notches going up and three going down, each representing a five second-per-day adjustment. By turning the key, wearers can track the adjustment by looking at the gauge markings, changing the length of the hairspring for an adjustment of up to fifteen seconds per day, without ever opening the watch. The system has been shown in independent testing to deliver an average of 99.99% accuracy, making the need for regular adjustments a thing of the past.
Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver Gold Ceramic Watch Review
Now is probably a good time to review this mostly solid 18k rose gold version of the Ulysse Nardin Maxi Marine Diver watch. Why? Well, at the time of writing this article, I've just returned from Russia where Ulysse Nardin is the top luxury watch brand. So, with those impressions in mind, I have a new way of appreciating the designs and ethos of the watchmaker. I've long been a fan of Ulysse Nardin, even though not all of their designs are my cup of tea. What helps make the brand special is that it is independent. What does that mean? well no one owns Ulysse Nardin so they can do whate
Parmigiani: Watchmakers Of Yesterday, Today And Tomorrow
The Parmigiani Fleurier HeadquartersOne would imagine that spending six full days with a watch brand is long enough to become comfortably acquainted with them and ask pretty much everything you want to know. That is true a lot of the time, but on this occasion, even after five nights of little sleep, nearly two thousand photos and many in-depth conversations, I feel a need to return and learn more. Nevertheless, I walked away with a new-found knowledge of history, watch making tradition and haute horology after checking out the Swiss brand, Parmigiani Fleurier, a world we bring you in
Cartier Ballon Bleu Extra-Flat Watch
Among Cartier's many new releases for 2011 was this ultra-thin version of the popular Ballon Bleu. I am not totally sure why the Ballon Bleu is so popular. As a women's watch I totally get it. It has a elegant, bubbly beauty to it and some nice rounded curves. I mean the word "balloon" is in the name - at least I think that is what "ballon" means. I could be wrong, I don't know. Regardless of the true translation, the watch collection will always be the "blue balloon" to me - and now it is a bit deflated.Thin profile watches are hot in 2011. There are a lot of reasons for that, but co

Over at Haute Living I discuss the new limited edition Richard Mille RM011 Ti Americas White watch. An interesting looking watch made in honor of the 2010 Winter Olympics in Vancouver, Canada. The watch will only be available in North America, making it one of those rare regional limited edition timepieces for USA and Canadian shores. The unique movement has a chronograph as well as a contemporaneous countdown timer (60 minutes). It also has an annual calendar. A very unique looking with watch a useful movement.
