Tempest Viking Diver's Watch Review
Like many watches that I review on aBlogtoWatch, I took my time with the Tempest Viking. Sure it frustrates brands when it takes several months or longer to review a watch, but the honest truth is that we are rather backed up and go as fast as we can, publishing a full hands-on? "wrist time" review once or sometimes twice a week. The benefit, however, is that when I review a watch, I get a lot of time to consider it and mull over it. My experience with this indie dive watch is a perfect example. Before sitting down to write this review, I revisited my video review of the Tempest Viking
GIVEAWAY UNIQ P-47 Chronograph Watch
Not all affordable timepieces need to be mainstream and mass-produced. For those who prefer a Swiss quartz chronograph watch that is well designed we present the P-47 by Georgia-based (the country) UNIQ. The watch is inspired by the P-47 Thunderbolt airplane and the dial of the watch is clearly instrument panel-inspired. It has a 47mm wide steel case and dial that is available in several colors including black, blue, and military green. The legible dial has some attractive details and we like the legible SuperLumiNova coated hands and hour markers. Over the dial is an AR coated sapphir
Perrelet Seacraft Watches
At Basel 2011 I was surprised to see these new dive watches from Perrelet. The brand has recently focused a lot on formal and sport so I should have expected a good diver, however, I never saw these coming. The Seacraft collection is interesting and appealing though parts of the designs seem to be influenced from elsewhere. My biggest question is how much Perrelet paid SeaCraft boats to use the name? Personally, I don't think about boats when I hear the name, I actually think about Star Craft. There are three watches in the Seacraft collection and each comes with three different dial c
Red8 Watch Review
While the Asians are taking steam away from the Europeans when it comes to manufacturing watches, the power houses of design and style remains in the West. True style innovation and experimentation on the most unique levels perseveres in the talents of those people who first made the watch industry what it is today. Still, it is impossible to view the modern watch making world without seeing the East, and those who physically make most of the watches, or at least parts of the watches that we buy.A new watch from a new company called Red8 celebrates this concept. The idea comes from a
Interview With MB&F Watches Founder Max B¡§1sser
Previous contributor to Tom Mulraney posted a nice interview with MB&F's owner Max Busser. To be honest, most of the time I could care less about interviews with watch executives. It is a lot of "blowing smoke up their own asses." However, Max Busser is different, and the information provided in the interview is quite interesting if you care at all about the business side of the watch industry - especially when it comes to popular independents like MB&F (a brand that I cover pretty often).Read the Tom Mulraney interview of Max Busser here.
