2013 Hong Kong Watch Fair Coming Soon
aBlogtoWatch will return to the Hong Kong Watch & Clock Fair this September to once again explore the world of watches from a more Eastern perspective. The largest show of its kind, the Hong Kong watch show is an amazing "Timepiece Extravaganza" (their words) that better reflects the broader watch market compared to the mostly high-end demographic that we tend to focus on when covering Baselworld or SIHH.One of the most interesting aspects of the show is being able to understand what technology or material is really becoming popular and mass produced. Graham Tourbillon Orrery Watch With Christophe Claret Movement
The Tourbillon Orrery by Swiss Graham was among the more unique watches we were lucky to see at Baselworld 2013. Graham vacillates between producing bold sport watches and classic timepieces often with an astronomical component. I caught up with Perriard after the conference to get a special hands-on look and presentation from the man himself on the new watch. If you know Perriard's work in the past you'l
Zenith Watches Rebalanced
1865 and 1,546.Those are, respectively, the founding year of Swiss watchmaker Zenith and the number of first-place chronometer competitions they've won. Almost unknown in the USA due to sharing a name with a consumer electronics company, Zenith is one of the small number of companies to have their own movements, or manufacture. In particular, their chronograph series 'El Primero' powered the Rolex Daytona from 1988 until 2000, as well as Tag Heuer Calibre 36, Panerai OP IV, Ulysse Nardin and others. They also have the 'Elite' movement, which is an in-house chronometer-grade timekeeper
