The new Mido watch has adopted an imposing titanium case
The new Mido watch has adopted an imposing titanium case. Distinguished by curved and stretched lines, it eloquently demonstrates its strong personality. The watch features a bezel and a case-back also manufactured from titanium. The bezel securely holds an incurved glareproofed sapphire crystal. The case-back is fitted with a convex sapphire crystal. Enhancing the aesthetic appeal of the watch are dynamic "Clou de Paris" engravings. The water-resistance of the watch is assured down to 50 meters.
Sinn Modell 901 Watch
German Sinn watches are known for serious professional-use timepieces and not much else. A design-oriented novelty watch, no matter how well-made, just isn't part of their DNA. That doesn't mean they haven't dabbled in fanciful things though. Who do they think they are? Fortis?... Back in 2010 I wrote about a very strange watch called Sinn 902 here. It was a sort of petite-men's watch with a unique cushion-shaped case and a three-hand movement. It was based on a series of timepieces that Sinn produced for Audi a few years earlier. Urwerk UR-210 Watch
I recently discussed Urwerk's brand new UR-210 watch with their interesting new "winding efficiency indicator" complication. The idea of the new complication was to tell you if you were winding the movement enough, or if you needed to be more active. I quipped that it was a complication to remind you to get up off your butt and move around. More recently I got to get my hands on one of the first UR-210 pieces. My overall report is that with or without the new complication, this is one cool Urwerk. The last new Urwerk watch before the UR-210 was the UR-110 (which we covered hands-on her
No More Luxury Watches
I want "luxury" to die. Not actual luxury from an economic standpoint, but a lot of how we use the actual word "luxury." Allow me to set up this topic just a bit, and explore my ideas with you. I promise that in the long run my suggestions will benefit everyone, and this is free advice to an industry that I think needs it.I write about timepieces, lots of different timepieces including many that are high-end. "High-end" having the association that they are perhaps well-made, use expensive materials, are exclusive, and cost a lot. You know... "luxury." What cheapens many of these brand
Had Customer Service Problems With A Major Luxury Watch Company?
If so, I would like to know about it. I am assisting a major US national news source on a story regarding some of the problems in terms of customer service, as well as watch servicing at luxury watch companies and their retail stores. If you have had experiences with any of the major luxury watch companies that you feel were unacceptable or poorly handled, you could be helping out in a big way. Not only will you be helping other watch buyers and owners, but you'll help send a powerful message to watch companies that customer service and post-sales support is an area they need to focus
