Ralph Lauren Slim Classique Watch
The Ralph Lauren Slim Classique is perhaps my favorite collection of high-end dress watches. These timepieces came out with the debut of the Ralph Lauren watch brand about five years ago. To this day, the brand remains a partnership between Ralph Lauren and the Richemont Group, and has seen the release of some impressively designed timepieces under a brand that is in fact part of a fashion empire.Ralph Lauren's approach to sourcing movements was taking from the collective Richemont Group expertise. While other models use movements from houses such as Jaeger-LeCoultre and IWC, the Slim
Greubel Forsey Tourbillon 24 Secondes Contemporain Watch With Titanium Dial
Greubel Forsey is probably one of, if not the first name that comes to mind when one talks about companies specializing in tourbillons. The company is almost obsessed with this mechanism and is adamant that it really does improve chronometric performance. Even their competition and other selective watchmakers freely admit their work is top notch. If you are skeptical, know that their Double Tourbillon Technique watch won the 2011 International Chronometry Competition held by the Le Locle Museum of Horology. Hence, the tourbillon(s) in their watches are definitely not for show.To be ho
Jacob & Co. Cyclone Tourbillon Watch
Boy, what do I even say about this one? Jacob & Co.'s new ultra high-end, non diamond-studded watch for 2011 is this Cyclone Tourbillon. The watch has a large escapement which is actually on the front-mounted automatic rotor. Having things on the rotor is sort of a trend this year as Cartier did something similar with their Astroregulateur watch and Blancpain has a power reserve indicator on a rotor this year on a new L-evolution piece. Though the Cyclone is the first watch ever to have an actual tourbillon spinning on a spinning rotor. The movement was created by some ex BNB guys
Thoughts On The Confrerie Horlogere La Clef du Temps Tourbillon Watch
I have been pondering how I should think about this watch for a while. I want to like it, and a big part of me does. Another part of me questions the wisdom of the watch. Is it wearable? Does it makes sense? Would you be considered akin to an alien from outer space for wearing one? The watch is a new piece from the Confrerie Horlogere, a watch making arm of the popular watch movement maker BNB Concept (that is about the declare bankruptcy). The model is the La Clef du Temps Tourbillon, and there will only be 24 of them ever made. Apparently one for each timezone. One of these watches w
Marvin M103 Watch Review
This watch may be a sleeper hit in the watch world - and one of my favorite Marvin watches in their current collection. It has the feeling of a classic sport chronograph watch - but in a modern package. Sized large at 44mm wide, the steel case feels solid while the leather strap feels soft. Looking at the various colors on the dial, I am reminded by one of my favorite sport chronograph watches that are no longer made. The Zenith El Primero Rainbow. The name was a bit deceiving, as it didn't have THAT many colors in it, but enough to make the dial stand out more. The Marvin M103 watch s
