Armida A8 Brass Watch Review
Armida A8 brass, with dive strap$349 USD. Wear without care. That's my TL;DR (too long; didn't read) review. Interested? There's been a real surge in bronze and brass watches ever since Panerai helped kicked it off a few years ago. Part novelty, part pretty gold-colored metal, partly the interesting patination both metals undergo. I've been interested, but haven't wanted to spend a lot of money on a watch that was designed to rust. Coming in at under $350, the Armida A8 was priced so low I had to buy one.The first thing you need to know about the A8 (and it's cushion-cased sibling A7)
iPhone App Smart Enough To Read Watch Names
When "Watch Radar" sent me an e-mail about their new iPhone app that is able to detect the name of a watch just by looking at the dial I was intrigued. Until now we've all had to read the name of a brand on a watch dial to know what it is - but no longer. Finally technology has come to the rescue. Using the camera on your iPhone, the Chinese made Watch Radar app takes a picture of the said watch and uses its whiz-bang technology to scan the internet and read the name for you. Wow! It even goes so far as to pull data from the net and give you some brand history. Now this is the future.
Watch Winner Review: Casio Pro Trek PRG550
Follow-up thoughts from Brian of Chicago who won the February 2013 aBlogtoWatch watch giveawayIt was a delightful surprise when I was contacted by Ariel, and was told that I won the monthly drawing contest for a Casio Pro Trek watch from aBlogtoWatch. While I like to consider myself a watch enthusiast, I had to admit that I had a severe lack of adventure/sport watches. While I had the standard tool watch, or the long lasting quartz watch, I didn?¡¥t have a watch where if I were to get lost in the woods, or I had to jump out of a plane, I knew that I would be able to focus on whatever is
Alpina 12 Hours Of Sebring GMT Chrono Watch
2010 is the second year of Alpina being the official timekeeper for the storied 12 Hours of Sebring race in Florida. The manufacturer celebrated this partnership with the production of a limited edition, two-timezone chronograph creatively called the 12 Hours of Sebring Automatic Chrono GMT. The watch is strongly influenced by style elements of race cars. This concept, unless overdone like in several AP Offshores, works fantastically. The sporty, yet subtle style and quality specs of this watch appealed to me when I first received the press release but playing with the actual timepiec
Seiko Ananta Automatic Watches
It has been a few months since I was in Japan visiting with Seiko. Shortly thereafter I wrote about the Spring Drive versions of their newish and impressive Seiko Ananta line of watches. If you recall, Ananta is Seiko's first line of high-end watches for the world market. The watches totally changed my perception of the brand, and I think if you check them out they will change the way you look at Seiko as well. The Spring Drive watches aren't cheap. While they are a great value for the money, the Seiko Ananta Spring Drive Chronograph watch can still get up to the $6,000 - $7,000 range.
