Midos don't have much luminous areas on the dials at all
It's often bit of a pain to decide between the different dial variations. Usually the white versions aren't that popular among watch lovers, but the Discovery is an exception. The "Panda" dial is simply breathtaking and it definitely my cup of tea . White dial watches can sometimes be a bit "understated", especially if they have silver hands. The dark subdials and hand tips create very nice contrast, and the dial is highly accurate. Print quality and double-AR are impressive as well. Midos don't have much luminous areas on the dials at all, not gens or reps. Only the hands glow.
My First Grail Watch: Xavier Nolot of Audemars Piguet
Welcome back to an original aBlogtoWatch feature, "My First Grail Watch." In this series, we ask prominent people in the watch industry about the first timepiece that they lusted after. Today, we're speaking with Xavier Nolot, the CEO Audemars Piguet North America. For his First Grail, he went back to very beginning, calling out a lowly LCD-equipped watch as his first.aBlogtoWatch (ABTW): Who are you, and what is your relationship to the watch industry?Xavier Nolot (XN): I?¡¥m the CEO for Audemars Piguet for the Americas. I joined the industry and Audemars Piguet 11 years ago, after a
Haldimann H9 Reduction Watch
I thoroughly debated on whether or not I should even cover this "watch." It is from a brand called Haldimann - eponymously named after the watch maker Beat Haldimann, and I think the man is playing a rather cruel joke on watch lovers. One press release I saw on the watch wasn't a press release at all, but a rather diplomatic article written by a Swiss journalist based on his reaction to the watch. As a timepiece this item is utterly indefensible - but optimistically creative types will claim that it is some manner of art. This latter description is probably the kindest thing you can sa
Ritmo Mundo Carnival 241 Watch Review
Different people buy watches for different reasons. I find that little fact very interesting. Fashion, function, formality, the list goes on... As a city dweller, I enjoy scoping out the types of watches people have on their wrists. It fascinates me as to what people choose. Especially the 30 under crowd who see watches more as fashion items, even though you see a lot of Rolex and Omegas. Each of these people will choose a watch that they can afford. So what "luxury" is will really depend on the person. As long as they want a "nice watch."This Ritmo Mundo watch, for exa
Zenith Defy Xtreme Zero-G Tourbillon Available On JamesList
It really brings exclusive novelty watches to life when you see them for sale. I learn about most new watches that are released, but with such limited numbers, most of them seem unavailable to start with. Even though I can't afford most of the watches, it is nice to seem them for sale once in a while. This will probably not happen at your local watch retail locations, but the good news is that there are great sites online where exotic watches are offered all the time. That is the next best thing to having these at your physical disposal.Today's exotic is the Zenith Defy Xtreme Zero-G
